Hurray for Issue #1! I would just like to say that I was up last night until 10:30, neglecting my fan fiction, to write this. Feel loved.
Before I get started, let me just tell you how excited I am to have some active members! *hugs* I really hope to make this place work!(I have horror stories about other RPs that didn't go so well)
Anyway, let's get to business. First off, let's talk about something that will be changing.
The length of time that it takes to recieve eggs will increase dramatically as there are more active members and activity. I don't particularly enjoy making you guys post *once* and then giving you your eggs. Kind of defeats my purpose. So that will change soon.(Only for new members)
Okay, now we can talk about some other things. The most important thing on my mind is Items. As we all probably know, Item + RPG forum doesn't quite work well unless a system is developed. So I've got some ideas, and I'm looking for member input.
1.) Only certain items will be available for purchase. I.e.: Bow, Sword, etc. You need to buy these items with scales to perform certain actions. Obviously, you can't swordfight without a sword. But these will be the only available items, there will be three different classes(Poor, Decent, Stellar) and each will break down accordingly.
2.) Aside from fighting weapons, items will have "perks". I.e.:Fishing Rod. You buy a fishing rod(if your class can fish), you can catch fish. If you catch fish, you can feed yourself and your creature. THis means you don't have to spend scales on food. Another example is winter boots. If you have them, you are less likely to get sick in winter.(And trust me, I've got some nasty viruses in mind that I'll be passing around.)
^-^ #2 is like an "add-on" to #1, if that makes sense.
Here's another idea I have.
Creature Abilities.
Each creature could have a special ability, from birth. It doesn't have to be "species" specific, it can be individualized. I.e.: It's not going to be like "All dragons can only have Ability X, All unicorns can only have Ability Y"
Example: Your drake has telepathy, my glyph has psychometry, and his dragon has a healing touch.
Good idea?
And finally, I want input on this. Can I just ask all of your opinions on Quests and the central plot? It's still so early in the game and there aren't too many people, it won't be hard to make changes. I.e.: Would you like everything to stay, would you prefer to make this more a "pet" site, would you like to see changes made to the story? I want RPer input on this one.
(God, I use i.e. way too much.)
