Maybe we should have one here? It'd probably be useful to have that stuff in one thread. Besides, people would notice it and begin to think of something themselves.

Like, roaming creatures or egg-hatching-out-off creatures? (Could be both) Anyway, I love the initiative. =D

Maybe after more people join, and more eggs are found and such, it would be easier to group eggs into sort of types, and from there see what ideas were popular, and build on them. For example, if half the people are making unicorns, it might be good to make different unicorn 'breeds' or something, like white, pure, good unicorns, element-ish unicorns, ebil unicorns, and so on? It would get a bit weird if every creature could be pretty much the same, but with different markings or somethin', so it might become a good idea to put in some guidelines for a popular species. Again, with only a few members, this isn't much of an issue.
Did that come out incredibly confusing? XD

Well I am pretty sure the eggs can be any creature of any color/pattern/alignment that the player can think of. Also, I don't think it would be a good idea to make specific breeds of anything as far as egg hatched creatures go. It will make it seem far more constricting than it actually is, and creatures that have been expanded upon by adding different species and such may encourage more people to want them as their creature, which would not be good if only the popular ones were expanded upon. We don't want 9 in 10 characters having unicorns. Diversity would make the game more interesting.

Yeah, I agree with anima. The egg creatures should remain whatever the player comes up with and should be original. It would be kind of degrading the diversity/potential originality of egg creatures to put them in expanded groups and result in a sort of growth spurt in the unicorn population. I say let the player come up with their own creatures and instead of putting them into a breed group, they could elaborate themselves and make the creature character as detailed as possible. BUT, if you want to make breeds of roaming creatures like Eiaks or whatnot, that might be cool.

Yup, but I wasn't really talking about egg creatures, more about the Encyclopedia. For egg creatures, people should be able to come up with their own, or at least variations. There's a lot more creatures roaming in Aurion, I'm quite sure.

It's sort of hard to say at this point, due to the lack of... just about anything. I was just thinking that it would, at some point, be a good idea to put some kind of limit on the creatures. It would be, not to encourage people to make unicorns (it seems very weird to suddenly be talking about unicorns...but whatever), but to encourage them to make something else. Like, if you want to make a dragon, you can do ANYTHING with your dragon's appearance, short of rainbows and neon polka dots, I assume, but if you want a unicorn, there are just so many, so you're gonna have to be more limited. Maybe it would be a lot easier to forget this for now, just because, for now, we don't know how things will play out.
For wandering creature herds, this could potentially be very useful. Egg carriers/creature owners couldn't stay in one place for long, because of the safety issues, so they might have to live a nomadic-ish lifestyle. and it would be very important to know what herds of potential yummy things are around what places at what times of the year.

But having a wide range of ideas is good :/ I think the only limit as far as what your creature can be is your imagination. Any kind of dragon, any kind of unicorn, any kind of well... anything. Let people make giant three eyed bat winged toads, or eight legged wolves that can spin webs with their paws if they want.
and I see nothing wrong with rainbow colored and neon polka dot dragons. x3 Hmm... -wanders off pondering-

That spider wolf sounds pretty cool, actually. Does it have extra eyes? xD As for the rainbow neon dragons, it just might get weird if some innocent bystander happens to see a giant flying lizard with eye-watering neon splotches flying overhead. They just might remember that, and maybe even tell someone, who may be part of the Police, or may go on to tell the Police. I mean, a creature that's skin is sort of like a jewel, and may create rainbow prisms in the right light, could be cool, and a mostly black creature with some little neon green markings, that wouldn't be bad. Dragons that fly around looking vaguely reminiscent of hippie buses.... though possibly quite interesting, would not be a very good idea. Perhaps we could have a side RP of strange, peaceful people with brightly colored creatures. They can go to the Dark Prince's castle and sing songs begging for peace and love. It could be very, very amusing. The Hippie Riders. Whoa, did that get off-topic, much?

Actually, any dragon would catch a villager's interest. After all they are only supposed to be myth, correct? Whether its all dark and dull natural colors, or hippie colors that stand out like a sore thumb, people will report it. Besides, it would be all too easy if our creatures could just blend in xD GO SUPER FLASHY BRIGHT COLORS ... and the hippie creatures sound hilarious xD But they'd probably be arrested in a flash xD (and was posting just to say really necessary Lisaro? o.O in ordinary cases it would be eh, but when you get gold for each post... Well, spam really ain't right. :/)

Eh... You get gold for posts? Didn't know that. Anyway, more on topic, I think flashy colours should be allowed. Snakes can be flashy, poison arrow frogs are flashy, most birds are flashy... It should be up to the roleplayers to decide what their creature looks like. I don't think there should be any limits when it comes to appearance. I don't think the hippie stuff should be implemented by the way, it's just too, eh, OOC.

Scales, whatever xD Currency Yeah... The hippies... not really realistic as far being able to just jump into the Dark Prince's castle and start singing for peace and get a way with their lives xD I can't really imagine anyone being able to get away with it xP

I think they would TOTALLY get away with it. Besides, they don't have to really be in the castle, just, y'know, near enough for their protest songs to penetrate the walls. Lisaro, I know it wouldn't be implemented. It's still fun to think about. If you could get away with it, wouldn't you? XD The scales-for-every-post is convenient, but if possible, and I'm not sure it is, it might be a good idea to limit it to posts IC. It's sort of weird for people to be giving notification of an absense to get scales, and scales for short comments like, well... . Maybe if it was linked to a certain length of post, it would be better. Just a mini-suggestion for cutting down on spam. I guess it's up to Val exactly how far creativity/flashiness can go. Yeah, anything that big spouting fire is noticeable, but something huge, fire-breathing, and lime green with pink spots is a bit much.
